CARE Team
Students in distress or exhibiting behaviors indicative of high risk, should be referred to the interdisciplinary CARE Team. The collaborative group helps identify, intervene and respond to help students succeed at UNT.

Housing Insecurity
Students facing housing insecurity can receive referrals to community resources and shelters, information about financial resources, and connection to other assistance programs.

Food Pantry
Don’t go hungry! Students in need can receive a bag of food, toiletries or hygiene products from the UNT Food Pantry presented by Kroger.

Survivor Advocate
If you’re overwhelmed and struggling due to experiences of violence, trauma and/or harassment, Survivor Advocacy can help by discussing reporting options, arranging for housing and academic accommodations, scheduling appointments and connecting you to resources.
Counseling

Counseling Center
UNT’s Counseling Center offers professional counseling, career counseling, consultation, mental health screenings, educational programs, and self-help resources as well as a referral services. Group and individual sessions are available, as well as couples counseling and BIPOC group counseling.

Counseling and Human Development Center
Established in 1987 to provide a wide range of affordable counseling services to individuals and families in Denton and surrounding areas, the Counseling and Human Development Center provides high-quality, confidential counseling services under the supervision of UNT Counseling Program Faculty who are Licensed Professional Counselors and/or Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisors.

Psychology Clinic
Services offered through the Psychology Clinic include individual, group, couples, family, and play therapy, as well as cognitive, personality, psychodiagnostic, neuropsychological and vocational evaluations.

UNTWELL
Counselor trainees from UNT’s rehabilitation counseling graduate program provide individual and group counseling and vocational assessment therapy services to students at no-cost.
Health and Wellness

Student Health and Wellness Center
The comprehensive on-campus medical clinic offers primary care services, as well as ADD/ADHD medication management, transgender health and resources for disordered eating.

Meadows Center for Health Resources
The health education office promotes wellness through programming and services including The Condom Club, health education programs, and massage therapy.

Recovery & Intervention Support & Education (RISE) Center
The RISE Center provides resources for students seeking information about substance use and mental health recovery. It offers alcohol and drug prevention education, stigma reducing programming, and recovery support services.

Collegiate Recovery Program
The Collegiate Recovery Program offers peer-driven recovery support for students seeking or in long-term recovery from mental illness, substance use, and/or process addictions.

Substance Use Resource and Education Program
Group and individual drug and alcohol education is offered through the SURE Program. The program encourages healthy decision-making skills and personal responsibility in an effort to reduce the harmful effects of substance use.

UNT students can also sign up as service providers.

Togetherall
Coming soon, Togetherall is an online community free to all students, faculty and staff to share feelings anonymously and get support to improve mental health and wellbeing. Interactions are monitored by licensed, registered mental health practitioners. It provides courses for specific concerns to help people learn ways to manage mental health.

Meditation and Mindfulness
Learn about accessing mobile applications with daily guided meditations and mindfulness exercises. These help to improve your emotional well-being and focus your awareness on the present moment while calmly acknowledging and accepting your feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Apps include Headspace, Re-mindful, and Calm.

Employee Assistance Program
Through EAP, faculty, staff, retirees and the members of their households can access counselors, referrals, resources, legal assistance, financial experts and online support.

BCBS of Texas’ Well on Target offers wellness resources to help faculty and staff reach their wellness goals including personalized health and wellness tools. It includes Blue Points, an incentive program for regularly doing healthy activities.
